Comprehensive sexuality education (CSE) is a human right and an essential component of promoting gender equality, reproductive health, and social justice. As such, these lessons have been designed to provide accurate, age-appropriate, and culturally relevant information. Careful consideration has been taken to align the aims and objectives with the United Nations Technical Guidance for CSE. By adhering to this guidance, I can ensure the resources are a reliable source of information and a valuable resource for educators, parents and healthcare providers interested in promoting comprehensive sexuality education for all young people.

Helpful hints for successful lessons

  • Set ground rules at the beginning of each session. Ground rules help create a safe and inclusive learning environment, ensuring that everyone feels respected and comfortable to engage in open and meaningful discussions.
  • Present facts about each topic from a variety of perspectives. Encourage students to make their own judgements, based on their values and beliefs.
  • Treat all questions as genuine inquiries.  If you do not know the answer, do not make it up.  Work alongside the student to find out the answer, this creates a great opportunity for learning.
  • If possible, create an anonymous question box or online form to allow students to ask question in private.
