WHAT DOES CHOICE AND CONSENT DO?

MAKE IT EASY FOR YOU....

Enormous social changes are creating uncertainty for educational providers in relation to comprehensive sexual education (CSE). Best meeting the needs of students and teachers has once again become challenging in a climate of rapid change. In response to that, tailoring provision can be demanding in unfamiliar international contexts.

Choice and consent was established to help provide a firm footing for CSE. Confidence from teachers inspires confidence and learning in students. That confidence also inspires greater stability and achievement in terms of mental health and overall institutional wellness (a universal school focus).

Hands-on research has shown that a lack of confidence in delivery, planning or orchestrating CSE can lead to stress, poor outcomes and lack of student engagement. My goal is to enable those delivering CSE to do so with the confidence that they would deliver their own specialist subject.

Bespoke Curriculum Design or Consultation

A curriculum can be built from the ground up or modified and updated. This provision will be of interest to those CSE providers who feel they perhaps lack the time, experience or would like some expertise guidance. Experience in the Middle East indicates that CSE must be mapped out with care and consideration for local, social traditional senitivies. Those nuanced uncertainties can be bridged and fed into a tailor made curriculum.

Teacher Workshops

Teachers teach their specialist subjects with confidence and finesse. The aim of teacher workshops is to enhance confidence and familiarity with the new strands and issues within the CSE curriculum. This will enhance the teacher's toolkit so they can approach CSE with the same passion and zest as if it were their own specialist subject.

Parent Workshops

Making the latest research and guidance digestible for parents as key stakeholders in the CSE process. Clear signposting of the benefits of CSE and linkages to broader wellbeing goals is a great way to show just how important CSE can be and how important a positive parent participation role is. These workshops help to encourage open communication and understanding between school and a key stakeholder group.

Curriculum Review

Receive an in-depth review if your current CSE programme. The report provides details on how you can enhance your curriculum to have the latest statistics, terminology and approaches to teaching and learning, whilst ensuring that you have covered the wide range of topics expected within your given region.
